History
The doors of Hatfield Funeral Chapel were opened in 1970
to the people of Eastern Kentucky and Southern West Virginia, under the leadership of David & Kathy Hatfield. Since
the beginning, the goal of the owners and staff has been to serve the residents of the area with quality preparation work,
compassion, dignity, and outstanding service in a comfortable, family-like setting.
Over the years; styles, interests, and personal preferences have changed, but the one thing that
has remained unchanged is the dependable, quality, and personal service that the Hatfield Funeral Chapel was founded upon.
We feel that it is our duty to treat everyone we serve with the utmost respect and dignity; regardless of the status that
one holds in life. In the last several years, many family-owned funeral homes have been purchased and are being operated
by large corporations with their headquarters in distant areas of the country. Often times, in situations such as this,
families are seen only as a number or a business transaction. However, Hatfield Funeral Chapel has been family-owned
since the beginning; and we strive to assist and guide every family we serve as if they were our own family.
